Hi, I'm Afif.
Afif Syifa'ul Hayat
Founder / Permaculture Designer, Practitioner and Educator
I am the Founder of Kebun Hanif Regenerative Culture. It's started from 2019 after I ended up my job at start-up company and I was wondering about some sustainable approach for living and also relating to agriculture but harmony with nature. finally I found my self interested with Permaculture and was joining the course that thaught by Mr Anam Masrur one of Permaculture teacher in Indonesia. The journey was continue along with my spiritual journey to get back to the basic (fitra) needs of life and human purpose is to be a servant of the world in order to carry out the role of caliph and fully submission to Allah SWT.
After I finished the course, I was being a volunteer at Islamic boarding school at Indramayu, West Java and was made a kitchen garden for food needs. Subsequently in the same time Tasya went back to Indonesia from her internship, I finished volunteering there and started our journey in to permaculture on 1 acre waqf land (now Daarul Hanif and Kebun Hanif) and get many never ending experience on the properties and start to teach in the early 2021 until now. In 2022 I learned about Islamic Gift Economy (IGE PEARL) and Social Permaculture from Institute of Regenerative Livelihood that was thaught by Dr.Adi Setia and Rhamist Kent.
In the end of December 2023 until February 2024. We met and learnt from Geoff Lawton one of the best Guru in Permaculture network, we were working together on a farm as a volunteer with Sam Parker Davis, and all of Zaytuna Farm family in New South Whales, Australia.
I also consulted, designed and implemented some permaculture projects such as kitchen garden, food forest, permaculture properties for community in West Java and Central Java.
Hi! Tasya here!
I am the Co Founder of Kebun Hanif Regenerative Culture. It has been 4 years now since we start our permaculture properties that now has become an Education Centre and also our living place for us and do our daily life.
A little bit about me, I was born in 1998, and I’m 26 years old now. My Permaculture Journey start when I was 21 years old, I did my internship in Permaculture Farm in Victoria, Australia called Peace Farm, that was my first time experiencing permaculture lifestyle, I lived there for 3 months with great people that really inspired me to live harmonious with nature and live sustainably. While doing my internship, I also did my Bachelor Thesis there in Peace Farm about Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) that also linked with the social economy in Permaculture. After I finished my Internship, I went back to Indonesia, and with my husband, Afif together we start our journey in our land to practice what we have learnt about permaculture and deepen our understanding by directly practicing permaculture on our daily life, and it continues until now.
Later on, We got opportunity to be an intern in Zaytuna Farm, New South Whales, Australia in the end of December 2023 until February 2024. We met and learnt from Geoff Lawton one of the best Guru in Permaculture network, working together with Sam Parker Davis, and all of Zaytuna Farm family. That is one of meaningful experience for us to connect and learn from them (We love you guys!).
In this 4 years we have been through a lot of learning, trial and error, and expanding our journey by sharing our knowledge and experience through course, classes, and landscape consultancy, also connect ourselves with a lot of permies out there! Hope we can meet and connect one day! Thank you!
